The role of the Medical Commission is to:
Advise on all matters related with sports science;
Advise on training programmes from the scientific point
of view and to select medical practitioners, physiotherapists,
etc to follow such programmes and to make relative reports;
Study the problem of drug abuse in sport and relative
detection;
Co-ordinate clinics and research laboratories for the
development of sports science;
Organize courses in sports science and to develop the
study of sports at all levels including university and
postgraduates levels;
Encourage and ensure that affiliated associations have
their own doctor/physiotherapist;
Liaise with international Sports Science federations
and their local representatives;
Deal with all matters in Sports Science that is directed
to the Malta Olympic Committee;
Study and make reports on any matter referred to it
by any competent organ of the Malta Olympic Committee.
