Objectives

  1. To encourage and promote interests in such sports as may form part of the Olympic Games, the Commonwealth Games, the Mediterranean Games, the Games of the Small States of Europe, the European Youth Olympic Festival and other International Games which fall under the jurisdiction of the Malta Olympic Committee.

  2. To foster and fund the representation for Malta at the above mentioned Games.

  3. To ensure that preparations by prospective participants are of a standard that would ensure participation with honor in all events.

  4. To contribute in any way to the propagation of the Fundamental Principles of the Olympic Movement.

  5. To offer solutions to the various problems of Sport in Malta and to develp sport in general in Malta.

The Malta Olympic Committee has 47 National Associations as its members.

The Malta Olympic Committee also organises the Olympic Day Run and in collaboration with the Education Division of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources, it organizes the Malta Youth Sports Fest, which are open to all the students attending state and private secondary schools.

The Malta Olympic Committee is run by a Council made up of two representatives of all the 47 National Association and by an Executive Board.

The Malta Olympic Committee is affiliated to the International Olympic Committee, the Comité International des Jeux Méditeranéens, the Commonwealth Games Federation, and the European Committee of the Games of Small States of Europe.

The MOC employs a number of local and foreign sports scientists and coaches to assist our athletes to reach their full potential. In 1994 it set up the Sports and Human Performance Centre to fulfill this purpose.

MOCCLUB is intended for all those who wish to know more about the Malta Olympic Committee and its activities, as well as for those who wish to assist the MOC achieve its aims, through one way or another.
