Our goal is to offer Olympic Teams the opportunity to train at top level facilities located in a Mediterranean climate; allowing athletes to climatise in preparation for their endeavours at the next edition of the Olympic Games in Athens 2004.

Sporting facilities: Malta

Millions of pounds have so far been invested in building 3 new multi sport halls and upgrading existing sporting facilities; with the aim of providing top level sports venues for up and coming Maltese athletes; offering first rate facilities for hosting of international events, and offering international top athletes/teams training facilities, should they wish to locate in Malta for their training requirements.

The many sports complexes and halls in Malta available are designed to provide top class training and support; all that is needed for athletes to improve their performance which includes an impressive range of facilities, which can be tailored to the needs of the user. Most venues are also a training centre for the local national squads and clubs. However, under this scheme athletes will be considered as priority users providing them with a number of exclusive benefits when using these facilities.

Full support and services to help individuals reach and maximise their goal are provided for from sports science with first-rate medical/scientific personnel to first class advanced training equipment allowing athletes to concentrate on improving their competitive performance.

Numerous international events have been hosted in Malta over the years which include various Small States competitions held regularly in various disciplines, two editions of the Games of the Small States of Europe, first in 1993 and again in 2003; the Juniour European Swimming and Diving Competitions (2002), the FISEC games (2003), and many various other international events from a wide range of sports disciplines; which all contribute to giving Maltese sport administrators plenty of experience in hosting sport events on a large scale.
