The Republic of Cyprus

The third-largest island in the Mediterranean. Cyprus lies off the southern coast of Turkey and the western shore of Syria. The highest peak is Mount Olympus at 6.406 feet, or 1.953 meters.

Cyprus is divided since 1974 after the invasion of the Turkish troops. The Republic of Cyprus is recognized by the United Nations and it is represented to all official events world wide. Additionally the Republic of Cyprus has signed the Treaty of Accession to the E.U. in April 2003.
